2026-09-18 09:55:55 The Launch Ceremony for the High-Quality Development of the Textile and Apparel Industry in Jun'an Town, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, and the Sheng'an Wastewater Treatment Project was held on September 16. With a total investment of approximately RMB 175 million, the project involves the construction of a new industrial wastewater treatment plant primarily serving denim washing operations. It will effectively unlock production capacity for washing enterprises within the park, enhance the overall economic efficiency of Jun'an's apparel industry, and provide solid support for the sector's green transformation. The textile and apparel industry is a pillar industry of Jun'an. After more than 40 years of cultivation and development, Jun'an has formed a comprehensive upstream and downstream denim apparel industry chain, home to over 1,000 textile and apparel manufacturing enterprises. The industry employs 16,900 people, accounting for 27.6% of the town's total manufacturing workforce, with industrial output from enterprises above designated size representing 20.6% of the town's total. In August this year, the Guangdong Province Apparel Industry High-Quality Development Action Plan (2026–2028) explicitly stated its support for areas with strong industrial foundations and high agglomeration — such as Jun'an denim — to systematically build specialized industrial parks tailored to industry characteristics and enterprise needs. Located in Phase I of the Changxing Industrial Base, the Sheng'an Wastewater Treatment Project is invested in and constructed by Guangdong Shunkong Sheng'an Wastewater Treatment Co., Ltd. Covering 11.5 mu (approx. 0.77 hectares) with a treatment capacity of 15,000 tonnes per day, the project will increase the industrial wastewater treatment capacity of the Changxing Park to 55,000 tonnes per day upon completion. At the launch ceremony, seven key enterprises signed cooperation agreements with the Sheng'an project. While strengthening supporting facilities, Jun'an's "Weaving & Manufacturing Park" project is also advancing simultaneously. With a total investment of approximately RMB 1 billion and supporting wastewater treatment capacity of 4,500 tonnes per day, it will create a specialized park integrating R&D and design, manufacturing, washing, and live-streaming e-commerce. This will help attract high-end apparel manufacturing and brand enterprises, gradually forming a cluster of local industrial brands.
